Installation

How to install the extension

Strixa installs as an unpacked Chrome extension. It takes about a minute.

  1. Download & unzip

    Click Download for Chrome above, then unzip strixa-extension.zip. You'll get a folder named strix. Keep it somewhere permanent — don't delete it after installing.

  2. Open the Extensions page

    In Chrome, go to chrome://extensions (copy-paste it into the address bar), or open the ⋮ menu → Extensions → Manage Extensions.

  3. Enable Developer mode

    Toggle Developer mode on, using the switch in the top-right corner of the Extensions page.

  4. Load the extension

    Click Load unpacked, then select the unzipped strix folder. Strixa will appear in your extensions list.

  5. Pin & start recording

    Click the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar and pin Strixa. Open it, sign in or create an account, and start capturing.

Note: Because the extension is distributed directly (not yet via the Chrome Web Store), it must be loaded in Developer mode. Keep the unzipped folder in place — removing it will disable the extension. Edge and Brave use the same steps via edge://extensions / brave://extensions.
